02 — The author in your child

“But my child isn't a writer.” Neither was any author, aged nine.

There's a story loose in your house right now — the dragon under the bed, the adventure narrated from the back seat, the same made-up tale you've heard a hundred times. Most families let that story quietly grow up and move out. We catch it first, and hand it back as a real book, with your child's name on the cover.

Maybe they are always making up stories. Maybe they have a notebook full of little ideas. Maybe they keep telling you about the characters they've invented, or insist that you got the bedtime story wrong.

That's where we begin.

You bring us what your child has imagined, even if it's only an idea or a few pages. We'll help turn it into a complete story, with ghostwriting support when needed.

03 — An achievement they can hold

You can't reread a trophy.

The sports-day certificate gets two proud weeks on the fridge, then the drawer. The trophy gets a shelf, then gets dusted around. A book is different.

And you get a keepsake too — a time capsule of exactly who your child was at this age, in their own words, that you'll be sneaking off the shelf to reread for years. Not another certificate the whole class also has. A book only your child could have written.

04 — How it works

We do everything except the imagination — which was never on offer anyway.

A few crumpled pages, or a story they can't stop telling at dinner — that's exactly where we start. We take whatever they've got and shape it, sharpening it without ever sanding off the bits that make it sound like them. Then our illustrators give the dragon under the bed a face. What comes back is a real book they can open and honestly say: I made this.

Meet Ink Orbit

We turn “my kid's always making up stories” into “my kid's a published author.”

Ink Orbit is a publishing home. We bring the same care that goes into grown-up books — real editing, original design, proper publishing — and make it warm enough for a family to enjoy rather than endure. Your child keeps the copyright and the credit. We just handle everything that turns a story into a book.

Start your child's book
Does my child have to write the whole thing themselves?

Most children arrive with an idea, a few pages, or a story they keep telling out loud. Our editors shape what's there and keep the child's voice. On the Signature package we also offer ghostwriting support, where our writer works from the child's own ideas and words. The story is always theirs; the child is always the credited author.

What age is this for?

Ages 5 to 17. Younger children usually tell the story out loud and a parent writes it down; that's completely fine.

What if my child only has an idea, not a story?

That's where most of our young authors start.

How long does it take?

10 to 14 weeks. Tell us the date you're aiming for.

Who owns the book?

Your child. They keep the copyright and the credit.

Will it be sold on Amazon?

On the Classic and Signature packages, yes.

How many copies do we get?

10, 25 or 50 depending on the package. Extra copies can be ordered.

Can my child do the illustrations?

They can contribute drawings and our illustrators can work from them. Ask us.

Is there a cheaper way to start?

Yes, the anthology at ₹1,999. See Two ways to start.

Ready to put their name on the cover?

Their story's already written. The only thing it's waiting on is a cover. One day your child will mention it in passing — oh, I wrote a book when I was little — and you'll get to walk to the shelf, take it down, and show them where it all began. Let's give that story a cover.
